Responsibility — Products with less impact
Products with less impact
SDG 12 & 9
Across the entire product lifecycle we have the opportunity to significantly influence our environmental impact at multiple points in the process. However, it all starts with the design phase and selection of materials.
In an industry where the materials used have a major impact on the environment, we make every effort to choose materials with a lower negative impact. Our focus is on improving the quality and sustainability of our fabrics, as reflected in our Corporate Product Policy.
In 2024, around one quarter of our total materials were classified as sustainable, meaning they were either recycled or organic in origin. This represents a decrease compared to 2023, when the share was one third. The decline can be attributed to a combination of material shortages and buying patterns. As part of our five-year strategy, we aim to explore ways to address this by refining our Corporate Product Policy to better reflect current realities and by identifying ways to increase the total share of sustainable materials.
Our strategy also considers other stages of the product lifecycle, including use, care, repair, reuse and waste. Each part of the process has a role to play, and we are exploring the best ways to influence them effectively. This includes building on existing solutions (see our circularity section), providing education and forming partnerships. We view responsibility as a collective effort — shared by everyone connected to our products.
